Right Wing Tip Work ..... - 3.0 hrs

Arrived at the hangar today. December 4th and its 80 degrees at 11am. How do you like that. Only in south Texas eh.

Anyway I started fitting up the right wing tip. I worked on the rear rib by marking and trimming it down to clear the area where it over laps the wing edges. Next I marked the rivet line with the rivet fan and drilled and clecoed in place.

Next I started to drill the wingtip in place. When I got to the rear the trailing edge of the wingtip is about a half inch to high above the aileron in the neutral position. The aileron is locked in place with the riging jig. I moved the flaps back in the up position to make sure they aligned with the aileron. With the tip drilled its locked in place. The only recourse is to redrill. I removed all the clecos and held the trailing edge in place and comparing the wing holes to the drilled holes in the tip its just a tad off.

I thought I could just mark the old holes and redrill but the are just too close so I will mix up a batch of epoxy and fiber and fill and redrill tomorrow. Bummer. No pics today so I snappd one of the thermometer to compare to tomorrow with the front coming in and the license plate to post on VAF.
