Nose Gear Fairing.... - 5.0 hrs

I actually had this done the first time months ago. Then as I was fitting over the brackets it tore. I decided to make a new one from scratch. I started it out trial fitting. Slowing cutting the tire hole bigger using the die grinder and then a flapper wheel with the air drill.

This worked out well but fitting is trial and error and slow going. Once I got it close I centered the nose cap and drill 6 holes with a #40 bit. I marked center lines down the sides to help for leveling before drilling the holes to the brackets. The center line should be 6 24/32.

Next I removed the brackets and installed the nutplates. Reinstalled and reinstalled the rear fairing. Still needed to do some more triming on the rear of the tire area to allow fit towards the rear.

It started getting late so I will wait to drill the sides until tomorrow with daylight. I got a couple of new signs so I installed them on the back will. A P-51 and a B-17 placque.
