Windscreen and Misc..... - 8.0 hrs

This update includes time from the last 2 days as well. Just like last week we have TD #2 in the gulf the same place as Hurricane Alex was last week so rain everyday. I think I need to switch from building a plane to an ARC!

Anyway I removed the windscreen and started trimming the little bit of curve that was left on the front to allow it to sit flush with the top skin. This consists of marking triming and refitting. With each fit it gets a bit closer.

I also trimmed the front corners to a smoother radius which allowed the sides to fit better. I marked a center position with the locking tab in the middle of the rollbar once I got the propper 2 and 3/4 on each side from the bottom of the top skin. No that I have it pulled into the correct position the bottom corners came in over the roll bar. SO I placed a call to Jim K to come by for his opinion. Man am I glad I did. I would of trimmed the windscreen too much to the rollbar. He showed me how to pull it up to the final position with an 1/8 inch gap and how the fiberglass fairing that you create would cover the sliding portion properly.

While I was waiting for him to show up I installed the pilot side seat. This consisted of aligning a hinge strip up to the bottom of the seat and match drilling to holes located on the bottom of the seat back. These new seats from Classic Aero are so nice.

When Jim showed up and got me on the right track we marked and trimmed several times until it is really close. Tomorrow I will do a bit more touch up and then I can mark the top skin for the paint line for the area underneath the windscreen area. I am going to paint it a flat black.
